Central to the mural are figures in motion—portraits of individuals from the Lincoln community. Leading the crescendo is Miracle, a vibrant 3rd grader attending Elliot Elementary, followed by artist and community organizer Adria Chilcoate, and HOH advocate and artist Artie Mac. Surrounding the figures is a murmuration—a cloud of birds in flight. Murmurations are vital to Nebraska’s ecological and cultural identity (from crane migrations to urban swallows) and act as a metaphor for the many forming a whole.
